Our Under 15 Boys followed up an opening game draw with St. Marys last week with a victory over Derrylin on a wet morning in Belcoo on Sunday. The O’Rahilly’s overcame a slow start that seen the visitors score 3 early goals. The Belcoo reply was three points from the boot of Killian Maguire, the third a fine outside of the boot effort. By Half Time Derrylin held a 3-1 to 1-5 lead. Jack O’Connor dipping free was the O’Rahilly’s goal.
Two goals early in the second half put Belcoo into a 4 point lead by the 44th minute but from here Derrylin took control. They penned the hosts back and kicked six points in a row to lead 3-7 to 3-5 with just one minute to play. Belcoo, who had hardly got out of their half for 15minutes did work the ball upfield and scrambled a goal, Jack O’Connor hit a fine point moments later and with that Belcoo had snatched a late win, 4-6 to 3-7.
They have a BYE next week before facing Belnaleck on the 25th March.
