Club Notes 27/03/2023

The Club held a very successful Dinner Dance & Club Plan Launch last Friday night in the Westville Hotel. Numerous achievements from the past were acknowledged and recognised while the future was laid out for all. The hard work continues from today.

The Main Awards seen Gerard McHugh named Senior Player of the Year, Lawrence McKeown named Senior Young Player of the Year, Brendan McPartland named Reserve Player of the Year, Rhianne McGuinness named Senior Ladies Player of the Year, Paul McGrath named Club Person of the Year and Tim Flaherty received a Lifetime Achievement Award.

Our Under 15 Boys travel to Belnaleck on Wednesday for a 6.30pm throw in while on Saturday they host Irvinestown at 11am.

Our Under 16 Girls play their league opener tonight, Monday 27th March against Irvinestown, throw in 6.45pm.

Friday is Deadline day for Club Membership is now due. Adult Player £50. Non-Playing Adult Member £30. Youth Member (U18 on 1st Jan 2023) £20. Congratulations to the 16 people who made it through the entire Last Man Standing Competition without giving a losing team. After the tie breaker it was Phil Corrigan who secured the £500 first prize.

Congratulations to Rhys Ray, Jayden Connolly & Jack Barrett who were part of the successful St. Joseph’s team during the week as they secured the Mulholland Cup on a 1-12 to 1-11 scoreline.

Results from Monday 20th March Lotto Draw. Letters drawn were B.H, L, N, Z. The 4 x £15s went to Liz McGuinness, Eugene Greene, Nigel & Fiona Stronge and Jim Leonard. Next Monday’s Jackpot is £2,350.

Best of Luck to our six County Minor girls who begin their Ulster campaign this Saturday with an away game in Derry. Sinead Barrett, Cara Gray, Siofra McAloon, Riona Keaney, Scarlett O’Connor and Eve Barrett are among the 30 player panel. We also wish our club coach Paul McGrath all the best as he is the teams trainer.
